St Nicholas Clock Appeal
After the electrification of the clock our next task was to regild the clock faces. On inspection it was found that the south facing face was in a dangerous state due to the erosion of the steel rods that held it in place and the deterioration of the stone work. It is estimated that to replace the stonework and put the clock face back will cost at least £10k. Anne Beck (Churchwarden) has launced an appeal through the Leicester Mercury for help in the restoration of this part of the tower.
We have been grateful for the monies from people which will go towards the large costs we will have to meet.
We now need to raise the remaining monies, if you feel you could contribute then please email the Webmaster with your address details.

The work on the remaining clock face has been progressing and the task is almost complete. A further coat of black paint is required beforre the Freemasons return to complete the gilding.
Our thanks go to all those people and companies that have contributed towards this important restoration work that will be enjoyed by everyone who passes and visits.
